Image
Aly Lovelace is an actress and gamer in los Angeles, CA. She is streaming on twitch tv helping those in need while playing games. We have conducted a short interview with her. How did you discover Twitch.tv and what inspires you to such a great idea to help those in need by being a streamer on twitch.tv while playing games? I was introduced to twitch.tv through a group called, The Attack, which is a live broadcast show that I auditioned to be on. Once I started exploring twitch on my own, I immediately thought of how much money I could raise for people in need. And doing so while playing games and talking to people would be so fun! I am inspired by this because I have never been in a place financially where I can give what I want to others. Be it food, clothes, or a roof over their heads. Twitch gives me hope in that, you are able to connect with those that you may never encounter in every day life, are able to ask for their help, and if they are able, they will give. How exc...

Bridge to Brigadoon

Image
Our guest for today is Stephanie Parker McKean from Texas, who is currently living in Scotland. She is the author of a new book, Bridge to Brigadoon , a Christian mystery-romance-suspense set in Scotland. We have conducted a short interview with her. Who is the most interesting character in “Bridge to Brigadoon?” Good question! There are some great characters including a collie dog named Shiloh who helps move the story with his intelligent thinking and quick intervention. The somberly attractive Reverend Evan Kirkland is complex and surprising for a man of God. Petite, brave Keavy must grow up fast at sixteen to handle the mystery and miasma surrounding her grandfather’s nursing home and help solve the mystery of his murder. But none of them can compete with Texas Miz Mike, better known as “Miz Mike” to her friends back home. Michal Allison Rice, who writes mysteries as a career, finds herself embroiled in real murder mysteries outside her books. “Bridge to Brigadoon” may...

Our guest today is Kristie Abruzzo from Michigan. She owns a small business and has an active role in her family. But another side of her loves to inspire others to be heroes in their world. She volunteers in her community and decided to start a FB Page that might reach a larger audience. We have conducted an interview with her. When did you start to love inspiring others to be heroes in their own world? My passion for “changing the world” started 30 years ago but it’s only in the last couple years that I realized that lasting improvements in our world come from ordinary people every day. How are people always mistaken about 'Goodness and Grace'? They think it lacks strength and tenacity and won’t lead them to their own definition of greatness What are the myths about this? I think the most prevalent myth is “good guys never win”  Some people still do not know what is their Purpose, how do you help them to figure out before applying it?  The Purpose...

Interview with Patrick S. Brooks

Patrick S. Brooks is an illustrator and writer based in Yorkshire, UK. He works digitally in Photoshop and creates children’s illustrations. He has  two YA fiction novels in different stages of development. We have conducted a short interview with him. How long have you been in illustration work? I have been drawing and illustrating since I was a child. Frequently I drew characters and scenes from animated shows and films, and would then create my own characters and write stories about them. This deep interest continued throughout my education. I used many different types of media during high school and found that I particularly enjoyed working with pastels. In 2000, I began using Photoshop at college for my Art diploma and found that I really enjoyed working this way. During my Art degree after a book signing with Neil Gaiman for his picture book ‘The Wolves in the Walls’, I decided to focus primarily on children’s picture book illustrations. Since graduating I h...

It started off as a passion-hobby, but it started to become a career once I made the transition from helping a few friends and family members, to getting referrals due to my ability to listen and meet the right buyer and seller at a fair market evaluation.  2. What are some tips to home owners looking to sell? Location is obviously going to be the #1 determinant of price. How did you feel to be under such a strong inspiring spirit and which are your favorite 3 songs that you have ever written? My songs come to me when I get a very strong feeling that just must come out. Something sad or hurtful has happened. It is not a good situation to be in but I know that it can lead to another song. I sit down at my piano and look through poems that people have sent to me, to choose the one that touch my heart in that moment. When I have written the song, I am happy again. I have many favorites among my songs. I think that I like the latest recorded songs best, "Never Said Goodbye" and "Lost Love". Another favorite is my techno single "Let Me Do Your Time". She is the director and creator of the documentary " Almost Family ". What is the reality shown in your documentary film "Almost Family"? The reality shown in the film is that adoption is complicated. There are some wonderful adoption stories out there, but also some stories in which adoptees were harmed as a direct result of their adoptions, by being placed with predators and abusers. Not all adoptees can process what has happened to them with ease. While adoptive parents often celebrate their adoptions, adoptees sometimes struggle with complex emotions. ‘Almost Family’ gives viewers a window into what those emotions sometimes look like. Adoption isn’t a one-time decision. It is a permanent solution with life-long consequences, which go on for generations. How relevant ...

Image
Our guest today is Lisa Redfern from California the author of Haylee and the Traveler's Stone . We have conducted a short interview with her: Which is your favourite and most exciting personality traits about Haylee in "Haylee and the Traveler's Stone"? Haylee is resilient and she doesn’t give up even when presented with seemingly unsurmountable problems. How did you decide to unite paranormal with this growing up phase 'coming of age' for your books? I wanted to explore what happens when a lonely outsider suddenly becomes noticeably attractive and powerfully untouchable? It’s a heady state—like winning a lottery. But once you live with that for a while, is it really so wonderful? What would you say to describe your writing and yourself to be similar or different to the characters you've crafted? Small aspects of my personality are in all my characters. If I had to choose which ones are most like me it would be Gene and Glori, Hayl...

Playing my character Yazzmen in Femmetamorphosis is challenging as she is very brash, loud and would be classed socially as common. She is also overconfident and does not care what people think about her. She is so extreme and I am the total opposite but shes is lovely to play. For biography writing, what are you currently writing about and why did you choose to write it? The Secret Ingredient of Sub Rosa: Sophie Brooks

Image
If you ask a professional who has achieved success in the arts, they’ll tell you that the awards and the ability to support one’s self is greatly appreciated but the true north they seek is making art with others they respect and like. Director Thora Hilmars first became familiar with producer Sophie Brooks while they were both working at RSA Films (Ridley Scott Associates). Witnessing Sophie’s command on projects at RSA, ranging from commercials to the Chemical Brothers tour, convinced Hilmars to approach Brooks about producing the film Sub Rosa . Judging by the recognition the film received, this was a well-founded idea. Sub Rosa was an international hit with acclaim from the San Diego Film Festival (Winner Best short film), Reykjavík International film festival (Jury award), the London short film festival, Rome Independent film festival, and others. Now, introducing a seashell into the meditation, helps the child to concentrate and find focus much more easily than just sitting there having their mind wonder. Finding out how ...

Revive your resume - interview with Jennifer Macias

Image
Jennifer Macias just started a resume writing business after working as a recruiter for 20+ years. We have conducted a short interview with her about the importance of a well-written resume. Having been a successful recruiter for 20+ years, what do you look for in a quality resume to help potential candidates get through the door? Writing a quality resume is both an art and a science. It’s imperative that you have a good understanding of the type of career opportunity you are seeking and how that opportunity meshes with your competencies, experience and goals. The best written resumes are a snapshot of the most relevant skills for the position(s) you are applying to. They highlight your accomplishments (rather than just your “job description”) and artistically convey the unique qualities that you would bring to the table. What sense does it make to have a well-written resume in today's context (ie Digital era)? This is a great question. I started recruiting prior t...
