Ian Leaf Offers 6 Reasons Authors Decide To Self-Publish

Image
Self-publishing has become a popular choice for many authors in recent years. There are several reasons why authors might choose to self-publish their work instead of relying on traditional publishing methods. In this article, we will discuss six of the most common reasons why authors decide to self-publish. Control Over The Finished Product One of the reasons that authors choose to self-publish is that they have more control over the final product. Accomplished author Ian Leaf believes that, unlike traditional publishing, self-publishing allows authors to make all the decisions about their book, from the cover design to the layout. This means that they can create a book that is true to their vision without having to compromise on their ideas. In addition, self-publishing allows authors to retain the rights to their work, giving them complete control over how it is distributed and sold. As a result, self-publishing gives authors a high degree of control over their work, making it an...

I am a Superhero - interview with author Shanna Star

Image
Shanna Star has been known to be a speaker of truth by those who know her personally. It wasn't until 6.28.18 that Shanna realized her purpose on this earth was to speak her truths in the form of delivering messages that others have not yet found the courage or the words to deliver. The knowledge that Shanna possesses does not come from other books, but rather from our direct source of creation, the universe / God. Why did you write the book "I am a Superhero" and what or who inspires you to write it? Everything I do is intuitively guided, so I didn't have a plan to write this book. One day while stretching I got the idea that I should write a story about the ways I felt so different as a child, and the journey through trying to accept everything taught to us as 'normal', and eventually coming to realize that I'm different for a very important reason. I wanted children to know that they aren't alone in these thoughts, and i wanted adults to also know t...

Peatmore Press - interview with funder Keith Jahans

Image
Peatmore Press was established as an on-line magazine by Keith Jahans in 1996. It was originally described as providing entertainment and information with short stories, serials, quizzes plus a few references for those interested in veterinary/marine microbiology. Nowadays it serves mainly as a showcase and outlet for short stories and novels in paperback and e-book formats. In 2009 Peatmore Press Limited was formed to publish and market its own brand of books and e-books. These were followed In 2011 by the first in a series of audio books. We have conducted an interview with Keith Jahans. What inspires you to write about this character 'George Cogrill'? I wanted to write about a character who was told he had to give half his inheritance to someone he did not know. The inheritance included his beloved Water Mill where he made his precious cider. I felt his name should sound like it was part of the mechanics of the mill itself, hence "Cogrill", and because ...

Interview with author Tracy Weaver

Image
Our guest today is Tracy Weaver from Overland Park, Kansas. He is the VP of Strategy for REI USA and published author of many books. We have conducted an interview with him. What led you to writing self-help books? I was racing forward in my professional career. Big time management consulting gigs, flying through the corporate world, etc. I hit a wall and found that I was really struggling to “advance” in a way that made sense and also fit with my values and work/life balance. I was missing some core “life lessons” and I realized that I needed to learn some of the “soft skills” needed to survive and advance in the business world. How did you overcome those challenges? I started reading all the best literature available. I took classes, I subscribed to online courses, all of that. I also found a few good mentors to coach me through those areas of need. I invested more than 200 hours on any given topic, and once I was able to apply it in my own life AND successfully coa...

Drive, Discovery

Image
Ryan Hollatz is a 27 years old author from Phoenix, AZ. Ryan is a very imaginative person, easily getting lost in his own head with ideas. He has released his first book " Drive, Discovery " which is a sci-fi fantasy action adventure taking place in a technologically advanced world. What sort of imaginations do you have about the dialogue within your story? I picture devastating, emotional dialogue between my characters. Imagining crucial, powerful events and discovering how your characters would talk it out or problem solve around it is one of the most important things to me as a writer who primarily focuses on character development. To see a character start from point A and move all the way to point B, C, etc. is truly incredible. If I can’t personally believe that someone would act in a certain manner, I backtrack and go over it until it feels right. What kind of special powers are of an enhanced humanoid in your opinion? For me, an enhanced humanoid is a ...

I was really trying to not write anything such as a...

Lynn Case Books

Image
Lynn Case was born in Baytown, Texas not far outside of Houston. She wrote short stories here and there while growing up, but with her being a private person she never shared her writings, even with close friends and family. Much less allow them to be made public! She still continues to write and will have many more novels to publish in the years to come. We have conducted an interview with her. When did you start your daily blog and what do you write about in your blog? I started my daily blog when my new website was up and running. That was around the end of January of this year, 2016. Which kind of support to other writers and designers do you do on your website? I like to give back when I can or pay...

Clever Books

Image
Clever Books is a creative startup that makes children's story personal. Kids themselves can be the main character in their high quality printed book. We have conducted an interview with the founders of this great idea. Where did you get your inspirations in this startup about personalised books? The inspiration for this startup is coming from my husband Thorsten. He is a born teacher as he invents educative and really nice tales on the go for our daughter. I was listening for him telling those stories about how is it important to eat vegetables or brush teeth, be nice with people and listen to parents and the idea about creating books with stories came to my mind. I wanted always to make these stories and books special and attractive to kids and therefore we made them personalized in the sense that kids can see their pictures in the books and also read stories about themselves! The stories are very helpful for parents in first place as they are helping kids through positi...

When She Smiled

Image
Ritoban Chakrabarti is an author, entrepreneur, online marketer, and avid traveller. He has finished writing his first fiction novel, titled "When She Smiled" and we have conducted a short interview with him. What inspired you to write your first fiction novel ''When She Smiled''? Who is 'she’? About eight months ago, I picked up JD Salinger’s ‘Catcher in the Rye’ and read it in a few hours. It was a very simple story driven around one teenage guy and how a few days changed his perception about life. We have all had such moments. I’ve had mine for sure. There was a story that needed to be written. After reading that book, I had an epiphany. I reflected on the choices I made as a teenager and how they influenced my future. My novel is about a fifteen year old guy who had no clue how falling in love would forever change his life. ‘She’ is the girl he falls in love with. Her name is Akanksha. The entire story is set in Shimla, which is a be...

Deflowered Lyric

Image
JJ Staples is the author of " Deflowered Lyric ". As she explains her purpose is more than writing.  "This is a movement to save our children from sexual abuse. I want to educate children and adults about this once forbidden subject that seems to be continually swept under the rug." Is "Deflowered Lyric" your first book and how did you decide to name 'Lyric' in the title? Yes Deflowered Lyric is my first book. It lived in my spirit for years and I have finally given birth to my baby, life and my purpose. The name Lyric came about because I start each chapter with a poem. I named my baby, life and purpose Deflowered Lyric because Deflowered means; “to take away the virginity. 2. To destroy the innocence, integrity, or beauty of: ravage. Lyric means: poetry or blank verse intended to be set to music and sung. Thus coming up with the premise of the novel where the characters, as children had their innocence stolen. Their feel...

Good Pussy Bad Pussy

Image
" Good Pussy Bad Pussy " is a page-turning combination of erotic romance, sexual thriller and modern love story. We have conducted an interview with the author Amy Aimee. How did you decide on the title for this sexual thriller? In the process, were there other variations being considered? The title – “Good Pussy Bad Pussy” – grew out of the story. It’s just the perfect description of the conflicts and dilemmas the heroine (Rachel) feels and experiences. I find the title very effective and also provocative. Why did you finally choose the word 'Pussy' to be used (and twice)? Wouldn't you consider it "a vulgar slang" thus making it a taboo to be on the title? Thanks, I’m glad you like the title and yes “Pussy” might be considered a vulgar word by some, but then again so many of us have such crazy, screwy, unhealthy ideas about our bodies and our wonderful sexuality that I thought it was a good idea to use the word. Just to be a little pro...
