Dr. Kuanita E. Murphy from Georgia is the publisher and editor-in-chief of Rural Leader Magazine that celebrates its 3rd anniversary. We talked with her about the last 3 years of the Magazine. What inspired you to create the Rural Leader Magazine? Great question! I was inspired to create Rural Leader Magazine as a result of a dissertation study. The idea was foremost a God-inspired idea that was given to me in the spring of 2013. At the time, I was pursing my doctorate at the University of Phoenix. My topic was a “Phenomenological Study on Leadership in Rural Communities. The study involved six counties in southwest Georgia. The findings confirmed the need for a specific platform designed to showcase, to share, and to exchange ideas and best practices for leaders in small towns.
