Interview with actress Laura Auclair

Image
Laura, can you introduce yourself? I’m a 23-years old woman. I come from French Riviera; was born and raised there. I’m an independent woman who loves challenges and adventures. I traveled the whole world and did a lot of jobs and activities that suited my lifestyle and my passion. Fashion was one of my many passions that brought me to Paris the first time. I studied a lot of prestigious fashion schools there. I have also worked in the nightclub industry for some time and was the best in the field. But after all my jobs and pursuing different niches, I knew in my heart that I would ultimately get back to my roots: acting. It was my true calling and that’s what I followed in the end. And here I am! Why did you choose to be a Hollywood actress? My dream has always been to live in California, L.A to be precise; which also happens to be my initials as well (I’m a strong believer in signs). Plus, there are a lot of opportunities here. Acting schools are great here and are...

Instrumental Nu Jazz - Interview with Han Sino

Image
Han Sino is an artist of instrumental Nu Jazz musical creation and Urban Spoken Word Poetry. Blessed by the 90’s Hip Hop, groove and Electronic golden age, Han Sino has, during this today greatly prized era, quite quickly acquired, a strong culture about Afro American 70's, and 80's, and secondarily 60's music.  As a young mellowman, he sees his vision of the world turned upside down by Free Jazz and Jazz Funk classics. He discovers John Coltrane, Pharoah Sanders, and Alice Coltrane, among others… Armed with a rich musical culture, in the second half of the years 2000, he approaches beatmaking, first, in solo, then, for a few Hip Hop artists.  Essentially self-taught, Han Sino has perfected his musical training and ear with the excellent double bass player, bassist and keyboardist, Jade A.K.A JadeNacre (Jean Luc Riga), during a year and a half. This will be followed by a deep metamorphosis of his creativity, as well as a progressive development of his musical mat...

The Colored Sketches Collection

Image
‘The Colored Sketches Collection’ or ‘Le Recueil d’Esquisses Colorées’ in its original French title, is a Collection of Colored Drawings about the reality of an authentic inner life. It also contains 7 Poetic Texts on the same subjects, and others. We have conducted an interview with the author AKA Louis. How does your name 'AKA Louis' differentiate and affects you as a writer, poet, and illustrator? ‘AKA Louis’ is not a name I have chosen, it’s a name that was given or proposed to me After I’ve asked some ideas about a pen name… Progressively, I’ve found other references than the basic ones which were proposed with the name. ‘AKA Louis’ is a reference to the Japanese words ‘AKA’ and ‘AKARUI’ which mean ‘red’ and ‘lightness’ or ‘brightness’… In a way, it can mean ‘shinning red’… Through history, language, and culture of original people, ‘AKA’ is linked to the idea of what is original, essential, vital, but also to the reality of what is rejected or marginal. In old Turk...

Interview with author and blogger Steve Costello

Image
Steve Costello is an author and fledgling blogger although he had over five thousand engaged followers when he sent up a motivational blog back in 2000. His passions are many but in particular he loves to use fictional writing to introduce matters relating to human beings and their spiritual nature. We interviewed Steve recently. How relevant are your personal experiences (such as of sleeping in bomb shelters and the travels/stays in Germany, Greece, Turkey, UK, the Netherlands, Devon, France) on the unearthing of a long-hidden secret in your book 'Beyond the Pyre'? My personal experiences are all a part of my life path and they have led me to believe strongly in humanity and the absolute love that resides in all of us. Sleeping in a bomb shelter was a frightening experience that felt very personal at the time until I realised that I was a lucky one; I had the luxury of a shelter and others like me did not. Those thoughts began to hurt. I met several group...

T H E O T H E R C O L O R S

Image
T H E O T H E R C O L O R S is a French experimental electronic band. We have conducted an interview with them. Which genre does your music belong?  Genre: eclectic. From French éclectique, from Ancient Greek ἐκλεκτικός (eklektikós, “selective”), from ἐκλέγω (eklégō, “I pick, choose”), from ἐκ (ek, “out, from”) and λέγω (légō, “I choose”). Why did you choose this genre? For music and if it is not a product of the Culture Industry (definition of the philosopher Adorno) and simply, the contemporary entertainment industry, ideally, the genre is defined by celebrity, the reception (like a message) for the public, that is, the moment when (artistic) experience is recognized. We make an experiment , we explore, we are a pioneer. To some extent, music is a "voyage immobile", during (listening) but also before, at the time of his invention. What is the song "Up Up Up" about? Up Up Up like "It's your turn to speak Up", an invitation...

Image
Today our guest is Armelle Perben from France. She was an expatriate and expat partner in 6 different countries and a French teacher. She started her career as Chef de Rang, in Michelin-starred restaurants for 6 years, then she started teaching French abroad. Moving abroad is amazing, but could be so easy with a little help. Armelle wanted to welcome expats in France, so she created a French school dedicated to expat partners: Absolutely French , which promotes an alternative way to teaching French and answers to their needs. We have conducted an interview with Armelle about her initiative. What inspires you to start Absolutely French to help expat partners? My name is Armelle Perben, I was an expat partner and French teacher. I didn't receive any welcome in the countries I lived, and I missed it. Building a network was longer than I thought. Why is receiving welcome while living abroad important? Receiving welcome from people who already live here and can answer...
