Myrian's Journal - interview with author Summer McGaha

Image
Today our guest is Summer McGaha from North Carolina. She has been storytelling for most of her life, but only really discovered it was her passion in 2006. She began writing an age-gap love story named The Adoption Elopement. The story grew for four years, by which point, she's changed the name to Myrian's Journal and after almost a decade, a new plot for the characters have begun to grow. She is currently writing the sequel. We have conducted an interview with Summer. How did your story's title 'Myrian's Journal' evolved from "The Adoption Elopement"? Why did you need to change its title? The title The Adoption Elopement, was spawned from a plot point I'd had from the beginning, that Myrian and Krayper would run away together. I began to see how impulsive that decision would have been for them, and I didn't want them to feel like they needed to be secretive about their relationship. The purity of their relationship meant that th...

North Carolina singer, author and spiritual seeker Gideon Smith is recognized for his bluesy seventies retro rock that has gathered worldwide acclaim. We caught up with the razor sharp zen master of the microphone to hear the latest news on his music and writing. Gideon has been immersed in doom metal, classic reggae and rap and gives us the inside on the new music.  What have you been up to since the last time we talked about your music? In the last few years, I have recorded sporadically and written many new songs for various side projects. The main sideband that people have heard thus far is my doom metal band Cemetery Crows . It is Black Sabbath worship with death metal vocals and touches of psychedelia, blues, and gothic rock. The response on it has been awesome. I’m very thankful people dig it. I have collaborated on new material with my good friend Kim and hope to finish the new stuff in the next year. We will also have several guests coming down. The material ...

Reel Lyfe Cinema vol. 1

Image
Michael "Lyfelong" Foster is a Filmmaker who is based out of Charlotte, NC. We have conducted with him an interview about his latest project, " Reel Lyfe Cinema vol. 1 ". It is a feature length compilation project consisting of short films that I toured with on the national and international film festival circuit. How long did you take to create your latest feature length compilation project "Reel Lyfe Cinema vol. 1"? It was actually created over the course of four years. That was mainly because once one of the short films were complete I would take it on the festival circuit to see how it fared with audiences. That's how I determined what films would make it on the project. The responses I received from people from all over the world that told me how a particular film spoke to them really moved me and inspired me to keep creating. I have other films that are good and received good responses, but I just didn't feel like they fit the them...
