Jingjue Zhou was recently featured on the AACYF California Chinese 30 under 30, a prestigious honor for the in-demand sound editor. It is a dream come true for Zhou, who knew she was somehow going to be an artist since she was only a child. “I hated the idea of being trapped in a cubicle office but didn’t really know what I should do until one day, I read a biographical book about director Ang Lee. For Home Away , she has wrapped the visual story in a sonic world which delivers us to the bustling cities of China to witness a father/son relationship at a tragic moment. Director Xiang Xu, under contract with China’s biggest entertainment company Tencent, enlisted Duan as a fan of her work on the films Moscow Nights and Father’s Studio . Starring award-winning Taiwanese actor Jack Kao as the father, this China/Taiwan release received massive critical acclaim for its talent in front of and behind the camera. In Home Away , Xiang Xu has created a film about one man but which also portrays the feelings of so many in today’s world....
