Junbai Zhou: Seeing and Hearing Music

Image
Versatility is a strength no matter what your profession. Chief Lighting Technician Junbai Zhou has found that her skills have allowed her to vacillate between feature films like If She Screams, television series (Amazon Prime’s Breakfast with Granny), and photo shoots for iconic publications like Harper’s Bazaar, but she professes a great affinity for music videos and the versatility this canvas offers. Describing what she finds so appealing about this medium, Junbai relates, “Sometimes it can be really hard to find people have the same passion as I do; to want to break the limits and bring new possibilities with lighting to these productions. I enjoy working on films and TV but one of the best parts of being involved in the music video production community is that I get the opportunity to work with different directors from different countries from day to day. It’s a very interesting journey and a priceless experience.”                 ...

Interview with international multipercussionist & waterdrummer Walter Scalzone

Image
Today we spotted one of the biggest entertainers in the Las Vegas of the Middle East, Dubai. He is the embodiment of the beat, a crazy mind…the percussionist Walter Scalzone How long have you been a percussionist and what do you love most about it? I started playing my first drum when I was 8 in a community of African kids where I used to spend afternoons in my hometown, Castel Volturno (Italy). I took it to the next level with studies and experiences on the stages (and dancefloors!) facing crowds from different nationalities and music tastes. This led me to experiment new sounds and percussions from all over the world, which now I adapt to the type of venue and audience. What I love the most is the connection with the crowd, when you start playing and the crowd feels you… feels your beat, your energy. We have been mesmerized by one of your shows, The Wa(l)ter Drums. Please tell us more about it! The Wa(l)ter Drums is unique show in the entire Middle East, based on t...

Cameron Farmer is a background actor, fiction writer, songwriter, vocalist, and guitarist from Los Angeles. He came up with a travel show concept called " Kingspirit Travels: RV Pinay In The USA " based on his fiancee's experiences traveling around America. We have conducted an interview with Cameron. How much hard work did you put into achieving your goal? Too much, actually, and it's always ongoing since I haven't really reached my goal yet on some things. I do, however, have to add that while I got an RV for the travel show, RV Pinay In The USA, I promptly lost it to local law enforcement because I still didn't have the proper paperwork to update the registration and now have to somehow raise up to $500 to get "Jasmine" back. It's been a constant struggle to deal with issues regarding the minutiae of getting things legal and the seller of the 1977 Dodge Mobile Traveler has been balking on sending me the 'pink slip' for mo...
