Interview with Tony T. Williams

Tonight our guest is Tony T. Williams from Shreveport, Louisiana. He is currently residing in Seoul, Korea. Tony is very interested and active in the community and loves politics and community service organizations. His current focuses are with the Military Order of the Cootie #, Korean War Veterans (KWVA) INC #299, American Legion #38 and Veterans of Foreign Wars #8180. As a Cootie, he visits the local hospital monthly presenting fruit, snacks and candy to patients and staff. What do you like most about being active in the community? What I like most about community involvement is making a difference. It gives me great joy to see how volunteering affects others. My religious beliefs also drive me to help others. Dr. Kuanita E. Murphy from Georgia is the publisher and editor-in-chief of Rural Leader Magazine that celebrates its 3rd anniversary. We talked with her about the last 3 years of the Magazine. What inspired you to create the Rural Leader Magazine?  Great question! I was inspired to create Rural Leader Magazine as a result of a dissertation study. The idea was foremost a God-inspired idea that was given to me in the spring of 2013. At the time, I was pursing my doctorate at the University of Phoenix. My topic was a “Phenomenological Study on Leadership in Rural Communities. The study involved six counties in southwest Georgia. The findings confirmed the need for a specific platform designed to showcase, to share, and to exchange ideas and best practices for leaders in small towns. Our guest today is Kristie Abruzzo from Michigan. She owns a small business and has an active role in her family. But another side of her loves to inspire others to be heroes in their world. She volunteers in her community and decided to start a FB Page that might reach a larger audience. We have conducted an interview with her. When did you start to love inspiring others to be heroes in their own world? My passion for “changing the world” started 30 years ago but it’s only in the last couple years that I realized that lasting improvements in our world come from ordinary people every day. How are people always mistaken about 'Goodness and Grace'? They think it lacks strength and tenacity and won’t lead them to their own definition of greatness What are the myths about this?
