Interview with musician Chris McEwen

Image
Chris McEwen is a music creator. He is a very solitary person, too sensitive in a hard world. Music is the only real connection to the world that he has. He works by himself doing everything from concept through production from his apartment. Chris has a distribution contract with Neicy Records in Ohio handled by Twitter promotions and recently collaborated with Cris Vola from Italy, a piano piece of his with a soulful searing lead guitar line, on the way to Itunes now. What do you consider as inspirations and connections to your style of music? The inspiration for my style of music comes from many sources. I could see from a young age that this music was a way to express yourself unlike any other. Subjects that were not allowed or not discussed, were accepted through music, to me this was a very important part of finding a way to express difficult emotions that I was experiencing. The style was firmly implanted in 1978 when Van Halen exploded with "the sound" I...

Image
Trisha Foster is a 31-year-old mom from Canada. She has been doing art since she was 8 years old and graduated high school with a scholarship to an art college. We have conducted an interview with her. What kind of art do you enjoy creating? What do you consider content? Hmm I'd have to say I enjoy creating art that makes people happy. I love a challenge and really enjoy sketching architecture but I guess anything people can look at and say "aww" or "this is great" is a real triumph for me! As for content, anything has the potential to be art. It's all in how you perceive your surroundings haha. Tell us a little more about your support system? I have a crazy support system! When I originally decided to start painting for the LGBTQA+ community everyone supported me and helped me promote! I have an excellent group behind me from all walks of life and I really couldn't have done it without them! They are my true inspiration. (You kno...

Saruta - interview with Japanese manga artist

Image
Saruta is a Japanese amateur manga artist living in Kyoto. He draws bilingual manga drawn in Japanese and English by using digital painting software together. We have conducted an interview with him. Which kind of details do you look into when you first started to draw bilingual manga? I bothered how to know onomatopoeic words in English (thud and thump etc.). Fortunately, I found and have used this translation site  . If this site doesn't exist, I must have cost much money to buy many comic books in English. And I also bothered how I draw speeches and onomatopoeic words on the same manuscript. Again, fortunately, I have used digital paint softs and applied them to draw. Please tell us about the current condition and subjects of Japanese manga. Why is this important? First, although many foreign people may not know, the home market of Japanese manga has continued to reduce. Almost all manga magazines have decreased largely in circulation, even the most pop...

Art Director and Graphic Designer Tim Smyllie

Image
Tim Smyllie has used his talent for many different projects. He’s taken the audience back in time to experience a life that humans have never seen in “Planet Dinosaur”, he’s wowed more than 20,000 screaming E-sports fans at the 2016 League of Legends World Championships at LA’s Staple Center, and he reinvigorated Europe’s most advanced automotive TV channel, Renault TV. Using his talent to enhance surreal entertaining experiences is just another day of honest work for Art Director and Graphic Designer Smyllie. The impact is often lost on him until he experiences it through the eyes of others. Toiling over every aspect of these creations and often overseeing a number of other talented professionals who he directs, frequently leads to an instance of “not seeing the forest for the trees” in Tim’s mind. When friends, family members, and clients convey their positive impressions on what he has manifested, he regains an appreciation for his work. As the lead designer, animator, and art dire...

The Eclectic International Talent of Singer Marisol Echegoyen

Image
Mexico has taken a number of hits in the past year. In contrast to those who might have defamed our neighbors to the south, much of its population offers a wealth of creativity and a benevolent demeanor; people like Marisol Echegoyen. This acclaimed and highly versatile singer has embraced the musical heritage of her homeland as well as become widely known for her affinity and proficiency in American musical genres including jazz, R&B, rock, and Rap. At least in artistic terms, Echegoyen knows what it’s like to be caught between two cultures. She concedes that much of the Latin American public, like that of the US, is aware of music but has lost a certain connection to its roots. While she has fronted big bands and small combos at major jazz festivals in Mexico, Marisol has mirrored this tactic in her performances throughout the United States bringing a strong Latin ingredient to audiences here in America. Vocal ambassador to both countries is as apt a moniker for Marisol as that o...

What is Chic Chiq?  Chic Chiq is a luxury cosmetics and lifestyle brand rooted in the ancient Ayurveda philosophy.  When was the first time you learn about Ayurveda and these 'whole-body' holistic systems?  When living in Hong Kong, the humidity caused my hair to be frizzy and my skin to be oily. Three Leaves - interview with author Steven LaVey

Image
Today our guest is Steven LaVey , a writer from Newcastle upon Tyne in the north east of England. We have conducted an interview with him about his newly released book, ‘Three Leaves'. Who should read 'Three Leaves'? What is it about? Three Leaves is work of romance/biographical fiction. The novel is in the first person, and is set in the years 2001-2004 in my home city of Newcastle upon Tyne. The protagonist is a fictionalised version of my nineteen-year-old, naïve self, and the work documents his struggles to come to terms with his life after fledging the nest from an overbearing, dominant mother. The novel splits into three sections – or leaves – each one concerning a relationship, and how those relationships fall away from the protagonist. Two of those relationships are romantic, while one is platonic, although it may be up to the reader to decide (especially in the last part of the book) who the third leaf actually is as all sections contain romantic l...
