Nothing But You, Nicky is a driven, talented and charismatic artist based in San Francisco. She is particularly striking for her distinctive vocal skills. Her dynamic approach to singing covers an ample range, as she is able to seamlessly float from moody and introspective vocals with an intimate feel, to larger-than-life hooks that are easy to sing along and remember. We have conducted an interview with her.
What do you personally like the most about your latest single"On My Own"?
I had been looking for unconditional True Love ever since I was a little girl and I finally found it on this song “On My Own”. When I first listened to this song, I cried with joy and appreciation and then I thought, “ I had been singing so long time to sing this song ON MY OWN.”
How do you use your voice to make this song the story it has?
There is no technic involved and all what I need is listen to my heart and sing as I feel.
How would you describe your voice?
My voice is connected to my feelings and emotions directly so I would say “Voice of rainbow color”!
Who do you draw your musical influences from? When did you start listening to her/him/them?
Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Ella Fizgerald…if I had to choose. When I had my own band at my collage days.
Which is the most challenging top song that you have released that has hit the charts? What was the challenge?
Of course, ON MY OWN! I gave all myself into the song and it brought me back an amazing world which is called opportunity to meet so many wonderful people like YOU. The challenge is worth to have and live.
