Canmaxx

Tonight our guest is Warren McDuffie. He is a husband and father of twin 6-year-old sons in Iowa City, IA. He patented a product Canmaxx that turns any common size trash container into a dual stream container. We have conducted an interview with him.

How does Canmaxx work?

Canmaxx, attaches to the top of any can, bin or basket and divides the space into dual zones. It holds in place 1-2 cloth or plastic bags letting you sort laundry or trash in the same container. It is the first "Dual Stream Adapter."

What is Canmaxx made of?

Canmaxx is made from recycled plastic which is very durable. We wanted it to be something that a person could toss into their car and recycle at the office, cabin or tailgate the same way they would if at home.

What inspired you to create and patent this product?

I know how hard it can be to recycle all the time. I wanted to help with that I guess. Everyone recycles differently too so, it was important to make sure that the adapter was super versatile.

How does this product help people recycle?

It allows you to "sort at the point of pitch." You just place it on your desired trash can or recycling bin and decide what works best for you. You can color code the bags to simplify it even more.
